✨ The journey of a new entrepreneur often begins with a ‘spark‘- a wonderful idea for a product or service, or the desire and often difficult decision to become a business owner.
Many, like myself, choose to work online out of necessity. I balance the demands of family life while pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams (now you can too).
🦋 I found myself standing on the edge of a cliff, with my kids who needed to eat and wanted to play.
I knew I had to find a way to get to the other side where I could actually do everything it takes (technically!) to easily operate a profitable business from home (or while on holiday!).
⚙️ “Wise Solutions for Success”
To succeed, I needed a website that was not only beautiful but also equipped with everything necessary to sell, market, and manage my business, no matter how big it grew.
I quickly learned what not to do.
❌ “Pitfalls of Free & Cheap”
Many people, eager to get started, jump in and grab a free or cheap website solution.
I did the same- I set up a prefab, inexpensive site and made it look nice.
😳 But then came the catch.
After investing time and effort into setting it up (and after spreading the word), I discovered that I needed to pay huge amounts more per month for critical functionality- especially for marketing. It felt like a “gotcha” moment, where you are forced into paying. I did because I needed to make sales.
This experience was frustrating and disheartening for me, and I know it has caused many people to quit or give up.
❌ “Custom Pitfalls”
Determined to overcome those challenges, I hired a team to build a custom website with the functionality I needed to sell.
🤨 Sadly, I soon realized that the developers knew little about integrating the necessary features for marketing, inventory management, or tracking and offering services into a shop.
It was an expensive learning curve, but it taught me valuable lessons about what truly matters in building a successful online business.

Through these experiences, I’ve gained wisdom and insights that I’m willing to share.
